Northfield Square Mall Stop
Has Changed Locations
The stop at Northfield Square Mall has a new location. Beginning on Monday, September 22, 2008 the bus stop will be between Carson's and JC Penney's (on the southeast corner of the mall - the old bank entrance). The bus schedule will remain the same.

With
gas prices continuing to rise, it is time to consider public
transportation. Public transportation is not only more cost
effective, but is better for the environment, by helping to reduce
greenhouse gases.
A single person, commuting alone by car, who switches a 20-mile
round trip commute to existing public transportation, can reduce his
or her annual CO2 emissions by 4,800 pounds per year, equal to a 10%
reduction in all greenhouse gases produced by a typical two-adult,
two-car household. By eliminating one car and taking public
transportation instead of driving, a savings of up to 30% of carbon
dioxide emissions can be realized.
This change also has a positive impact on your finances. The
cost to ride River Valley Metro fixed routes is $1.00 each way.
If you are riding the University Park Commuter Link, the cost is
$3.00 each way during the week and $2.00 on Saturday, Sunday & some
holidays.
Use this link to calculate your savings if you took public
transportation instead of your personal vehicle.
River Valley Metro operates 11 different routes to get you where you want to go. Our website will give you our schedules, maps and fares, as well as provide you additional information about the transit district. River Valley Metro currently serves Aroma Park, Kankakee, Bradley, Bourbonnais Manteno and most recently Manteno Township, with a commuter route to University Park to link up with the Metra to downtown Chicago.

TWO NEW ROUTES!
River Valley Metro will provide a service to
Wal-Mart at exit 308 and operate a new
fixed route in Manteno.
The Manteno Route will provide public transportation to the
Veteran's Home, Diversitech, downtown Manteno, and the Sears and
Kmart Warehouses
ALSO
beginning on August 11th KCC and Eastgate will have service
every half hour.
