Transfer Stations
Chestnut & North Schuyler
This transfer station is the hub of most of
River Valley Metro routes. Conveniently located two blocks north from the
corner of Court and Schuyler, passengers can get to many locations in
downtown Kankakee from this station or transfer to one of many River Valley
Metro fixed routes.
Routes transferring at Chestnut & North Schuyler are Meadowview, Bradley,
Northfield Square Mall, Eastgate, Aroma Park, KCC, West Kankakee and the
Medical Center routes.
St. Vincent DePaul by Perry Farm
This transfer station allows passengers to reach the northern part of River Valley Metro's service area. Route 1, Meadowview serves this transfer station every 30 minutes from the Chestnut and North Schuyler station, with transfers to the Bourbonnais Route 10 and Bradley bus every hour at 40 minutes after the hour and Bourbonnais Route 11 at 11 minutes after the hour.
Northfield Square Mall
Transfer between the Northfield Square Mall route and Bourbonnais route 10 and route 11 or transfer to our commuter route to University Park to catch the Metra to downtown Chicago. Commuter bus departs from the mall on weekdays from the outer circle, east of the Lens Crafters entrance. CLICK HERE to see the University Park schedule.
Manteno Oak Street Shelter
Transfer between the newest River Valley Metro fixed route serving Manteno and the commuter route to University Park at the shelter on Oak Street in downtown Manteno.
Metro Centre Park and Ride Facility
Beginning March 2009, passengers have a new park and ride facility for the University Park route. The Metro Centre Transfer Station will provide free parking for passengers traveling to Chicago for overnight trips. All passengers using this new service must park in the commuter parking lot only (east of the entrance). The University Park route departs the Metro Centre every day.
