Fares & Passes
River Valley Metro is an affordable way to travel in the River
Valley service area. All of our buses take cash, tokens or
monthly passes. When using cash, please remember
to have exact change. Drivers cannot make
change.

Standard Fixed Routes:
6 years & older - $1.00
5 & under - free of charge
University Park
Commuter Service:
Monday - Friday - $3.00
Saturday, Sunday & Holidays* - $2.00
5 & under - free of charge
*Holidays are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day,
Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas
Reduced Rates for Disabled on Fixed Routes:
6am - 8am & 4pm - 10:30pm - $.50
All other hours - $1.00
Must present ADA Card, Medicare Card or
Reduced Fare ID Card to receive reduced rate.
Effective March 17, 2008, seniors age 65 and older ride free on all fixed route buses. Must present a government issued picture ID providing proof of age.
Effective October 24, 2008, Circuit Breaker eligible disabled individuals can ride any public transportation, fixed route in the State of Illinois. Those eligible will receive a postcard from the Illinois Department of Aging. River Valley Metro requires the postcard and a state issued picture I.D. to ride free. Monthly Passes:
Monthly passes are available to ride all of
the buses in the River Valley Metro system.
