11/29/16 Funding Update:

Last night, the Comptroller’s office released the FY 2017 first and second quarter payments for River Valley Metro. The amount of funds transferred after these payments will cover only half of the other downstate systems for one quarter. While this is good news for River Valley Metro and our customers, the status of future payments and fund transfers are still in question. Metro Staff is working with our Legislators to gain a good understanding of this situation and when it would be advisable to resume full services. We will release additional updates as information becomes available.

Due to state funding issues, beginning November 1, 2016:

No bus service is available on Sundays or major holidays. Major holidays affected are Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor day.

Route 11 and Route 12 are not in service. Please use Route 10 instead of Route 11, and use Route 1 or Route 6 instead of Route 12.

We hope to resume these services once the state funding issue is resolved.

Mass transit systems throughout downstate Illinois are at risk of shutting down due to state funding issues. This funding is separate from the general revenue fund budget, and is required by law. Please check back here and on our Facebook page for related stories from around the state and for updates.
